John Neary - ‘Working towards an Expanded form of Painting.’
8th - 10th November
In a formal sense the paintings are concerned with Colour, composition, edge and depth. Informed by digital editing I use a combination of improvisation and design to settle on the final composition. The intention is to create loosely geometric compositions informed by the modernist tradition that develop a position somewhere in-between hard-edged and painterly abstraction. In the recent works I have started to explore the digital aspects of the work more fully introducing digitally made images directly onto the canvas and painting into them, I hope to expand this in the future.

Jas Dhillon in Residnce.
Jas Dhillon @jasbir3 is our current artist in residence. The residency is a delayed part of our "Model for Change" public programme that ran between 2023-24. Jas has recently completed the Artist Associate Programme at Open School East and is a resident artist at People Dem Collective. Jas will be working in the Project Space through til November to "look into experiences of loss, self-care, mothering, reparenting, and food"
The public come for this residency will take place December 2024.
