'The Seagulls Remind Me of You - Elouise Farley
The evocative power of birdsong inspired Elouise’s first solo exhibition. Created during a bleak period, during which Elouise survived on Morrison’s rotisserie chicken, snapping the wishbone in the kitchen by herself. This series of sculptures explore 'guts'—spilling them, being gutted, gutlessness, and the pecking out of guts, as in the Prometheus myth. The work also draws on the ugly cry of the seagull, reimagined as a Siren’s call, and on birdsong as a trigger for memories that tie us to people and places.

About Off Season
‘From January 24 to January 26, 2025, we will convene to celebrate Margate's vibrant artistic community through a weekend of exhibitions and events. Recognizing that the off-season winter months can pose challenges for local businesses, we are collaborating to organize a complimentary three-day art trail that highlights the creative spirit of Margate. This initiative will feature events and exhibitions not only in local galleries but also in shops, cafés, bars, and private residences. We anticipate that this engaging celebration will not only provide enjoyment for attendees but also contribute positively to the local economy during these challenging winter months.’
